Katy Perry and OPI for Spring 2011

The shades in her collection are all inspired by songs from her new album, Teenage Dream, and the colors are so FUN!

The two metallics in the collection are a dark berry called “The One That Got Away” (L), and a silver “Not Like The Movies” (R).

But it’s the glitters I really adore! The most stand-out shade has to be the bold blue “Last Friday Night” (L), but for the super girly-girls, the pale pink “Teenage Dream” (R) would be the best choice.

And for the grand finale; “Black Shatter” is a top coat that crackles and separates as it dries on the nail giving a cool textured effect much like the one on the top of the bottle. I can’t wait to have so much fun with this. I hope you enjoy :)

Availability: January 2011

Burlesque by OPI Collection

Top Row:

L-R: Let Me Entertain You, Ali’s Big Break, Teas-y Does It, Rising Star, Take The Stage, The Show Must Go On!

Bottom Row:

L-R: Simmer & Shimmer, Show It & Glow It!, Sparkle-icious, Bring On The Bling, Glow Up Already!, Extra-va-vagainza!

($8.00 Each)

It’s a very glittery, shimmery collection, full of color and stage aroma, continuing the magic shades first brought to your attention through the Alice In Wonderland OPI collection. Even though it was released in September it really never caught my attention, but I wanted to show you some swatches so I picked up this teaser set to try out and I’m still not impressed. This is one of my least favorite collections that OPI has come out with. Sorry guys but I’m just not into this one.

($12.00)

L-R: Sugar Plums, Naughty & Nice, Little Dummer Boy, Party Hearty, Jolly Holly, Peace On Earth

I got six of the sixteen nail polishes from this beautiful collection. I only passed on the other ten because well I didn’t need that many, and I already had something in my collection that look close to or exactly like them. I could only find twelve of the sixteen photographs to share but I’m sure once the collection comes out you will have no problem selecting the ones you want. I purchased mine online at 8ty8beauty.com and paid $3.00 for each and I got them in about four days. The ones above are my picks for the collection (obviously) I and my favorite is Jolly Holly. I hope you enjoy :)

What I paired Party Hearty with L-R: Phat Santa, Naughty & Nice, Jolly Holly, and Snow

If you have paired any of the other colors please share with me. Also let me know what your thought of the collection is. To much or Just Enough?

Organization & Nail Polish Keeps Me Happy

I didn’t realize how many Nail Polishes I had but when I tried to organize them I felt a little over whelmed. I had them in stackable clear shoe boxes but having to take them off one another and opening up a lid made them just to messy. So I found a better solution at the Container Store. They containers are actually men’s shoe boxes that slide out. I also put the slip grip matte that comes in rolls at the bottom so when I open each draw all the polishes don’t go flying everywhere. Also the super see through containers make it easy to see what I have.

I divided them as follows:

Left Top, Blue, Green, Yellow

Left Bottom, Dark Purple, Purple, Light Purple

Right Top, Seasonal Nail Colors

Right Bottom, White, Pink, Coral, Red, Maroon

This is my favorite drawer because it will be forever changing. This is going to be my Seasonal Drawer and every nail color or collection that I get for the season will go in here. It makes it easy on me so that I can just pick an appropriate color for the season, and then when the next season comes I can organize this drawer by color and start with the next season. Well see how it works out. I hope you enjoy :)

China Glaze “Awakening” Collection

“Sink your claws into these three ghoulish glitters from China Glaze, perfect for a night of fright! Uniquely alluring and unlike any other Halloween colors before them, this collection is sure to entice.”

  • Ick-A Body - A dark green base chock full of orange glitter
  • Mummy May I – Vampy, wine colored purple with flecks of hot pink glitter
  • Zombie Zest – A mossy green shade with gold flecks of micro glitter

I love these colors for Halloween. The only problem I have is with Ick-A-Body it takes two coats to get the color I want, and it seems to thick for me. Other then that I’m really getting into the spirit of Halloween. I hope you enjoy :)
